ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Richard Dahl is Director of Human Resources for the Evangelical Free Church of America national office in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With over 30 years of business and HR experience, he oversees all aspects of human resources for the EFCA national office and regularly advises churches on HR related issues.

Prior to working at the EFCA, he worked internationally and nationally with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) for ten years. He served as accountant in the Middle East Office in Cyprus and European Office in Germany, campus staff at Eastern Michigan University, and Campus Area Administrator for the Minnesota, Iowa, North and South Dakota area.

In his church he has been an elder, Sunday School teacher, and volunteer treasurer.

Richard has an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

He holds credentials as a Senior Certified Professional with the Society of Human Resource Management, and a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute.

In addition to his work in finance and HR, he has received training in mediation and conflict resolution through the Institute of Christian Conciliation and has helped churches walk through challenging conflict situations.

Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Julie, their three kids, and four grandchildren.
